$50,500 starting salary for first year teachers; salary commensurate with teaching experience per the MDCPS Salary Schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Florida Teaching Certification or eligibility
ESE or ASD Endorsement preferred, but not required for hire
Passion for working with individuals with autism
Strong classroom management and teamwork skills
Must be fluent in English, written/spoken
Must pass Level 2 background check through Miami-Dade County Public Schools (fingerprinting and drug screening)

Our Mission:

South Florida Autism Charter School provides education and therapeutic services to individuals in grades K-12 and up to age 22, who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and reside in Miami-Dade/Broward Counties. We target students with communication deficits and/or behavioral challenges, and who may require training in self-help skills. The methodologies of B.F. Skinner’s Theory of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB) are applied in conjunction with State Standards for students on a modified curriculum in order to provide the most effective individualized educational programs possible.
